So Much to Journal About...

I'm not really sure where to start. Today was such a beautiful day, and I made the most of it. Having worked all of last weekend and quite a few long hours at work lately, I took today off and made myself have a three day weekend. So far, so good. Much of the time, I always have SOMETHING to do...like many of you.

Today was a day of relaxation. I went for a walk through Forest Park with my best friend, and carried her 25 pound child on my back for about half of it (getting ready for the backpacking trip). We talked for over two hours as we walked along the trail--it was refreshing, as her and I normally do not get to spend that much time together.

Being outside in the sunshine and enjoying nature was exhilarating. It made me very glad I spend the time volunteering to help keep Forest Park looking nice. Not sure if any of you know, but the English Ivy that I help remove actually can cause trees to become unhealthy, and block out beautiful native plants such as Trillium (look it up). If the work parties didn't constantly work to remove it, the plant would take over Forest Park and the landscape would change drastically.

I'm looking forward to special training tomorrow morning, and I need to get to bed soon so I don't feel tired. Tonight's fitblast class was short, but intense. CGN Guy and BSBN Corey rock with their insane workouts. If any of you want extra conditioning, I highly recommend coming to fitblast on Monday and Friday evenings.

I hope everyone else enjoyed the beautiful day, and I look forward to training with you tomorrow!
