So I was driving down 26 a while ago and I saw a sign saying that my exit was 3 miles away or something like that. A few years ago I would not have been able to see myself being able to run 3 miles and probably would have thought, "Oh, I can't run that. That's so far!!"
But this day was different. This day, I thought, "Hey, 3 miles really isn't that far. I could just run to my destination if needed." And then it hit me. My view of myself was completely different. I can do it. I might not always want to do it, but I CAN.
Now, if people tell me I can't do something I get mad at them. I really do. Cause I now see people who talk and think like that not as realists, but as failure seeking people. Even before they allow themselves or anyone else a chance to try, they say "No" or "I can't" or "You can't do that." Thus, they never win. They never know what it's like to bust their butt at something and finally earn their reward. Granted, they never know what it's like to fail-epically. But isn't failure like beauty? It's all in the eye of the beholder. And those "failures" make our victories all the better, all the more triumphant.
So to those who tell me, "You can't do that"...watch me. Watch me prove you wrong.
