Kids Who Aim High

When I logged in tonight, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to write about, so I started reading everyone's journal entries. As I scrolled through the entries, I found myself in awe of the youngest members of the Dare to Dream Team.

Sometimes, when I'm out in the community, I come across young people and I am amazed at how focused they are on trivial things...it makes me wonder about what values they are developing and how it's going to affect their lives as adults and the people who surround them.

The young people who have trained, are training, or who will train as black belts at Aim High do not reflect this quality. They are aware of their affect on the world, and they understand the social responsibility they have to make a positive impact.

Every interaction a person has with another leaves an impression and makes a change in some way, even if only in a very small one.

Chandler, Zoe, Taylor, Sarah, Hunter, Noah, Christopher, and Darius (as well as those who are not testing this year)...all of you make such a positive impact in my life. Every time I train with you, have a conversation with you, and read or hear about something you have said or done, I am truly inspired.

Your drive and dedication for personal growth, the understanding you have of social responsibility, and the respect you have for everyone around you is astounding!

All of you set an example I want to follow. Don't ever stop aiming high! :o)
