Time is fleeting

I'm sitting at home right now at 5:17pm waiting for my uniform to dry because I didn't have time this weekend to finish my laundry. Sometimes, life get so busy. It's kind of funny that I always feel like I am running short on time, but my choices are what cause the situation. Between working too much, training, trying to maintain friendships outside of those two areas, and doing all of the weekly chores, I barely have time to just sit down and veg out.

Last week, I took Monday off from training because I really just needed an evening alone. I was going to work on OGA's annual report, but when I got home some ME time sounded like such a better idea. I love everyone at Aim High, but my mental health needed that night off. I feel a lot better tonight...could partially be due to completing the report and sending it to print. :o)

I decided to create a daily schedule...I even typed it out for every day of the week; some days have different activities. I don't expect to follow it to a T, but I figured it will help me find some semblance of sanity with all of my commitments.

The requirements are coming along slowly, but surely. I'm still a little behind, but I plan to be totally caught up by the end of June. I actually need to surpass the push-ups/sit-ups to reach the personal goal I set on my last birthday. I'm turning 30 in July, and I want to have completed 30,000 push-ups/sit-ups by that day. I'm about half-way there at the moment.

Speaking of push-ups...I should go do some before training.

Saturday Night- Girl's Talk

Thanks to Miss Devon, the girl's talk finally happened. It was on Saturday night and things went pretty well. Many people asked if it was going to be a weekly gathering. For the most part we shared stories about all kinds of stuff and the most common topic seemed to be bullying stories. I thought it was a great idea to get girls to share how they feel although, I think that a lot of the girls (myself included) felt more comfortable sharing the small groups rather then to the whole crowd. I'm still working on 'coming out of my shell'.
Phase 3 is already here! So far I've got about 8,300 push ups and sit ups to do to make up for the ones I didn't finish last phase. June 25 is going to come so fast. I remember with the Power Within test that after school was out and summer began everything just flew by. Before we know it, it will be October and nerves (as well as confidence) will at there peak.

The Deschutes hike is a little more than a week away! I'm so excited because I get to go with my BFFs Zoe, Sarah and even Lauren. We are going up Friday and are going share a tent. My dad is going to come up Saturday with the rest of the team. He's coming home from Turkey tomorrow night and he will get home from Japan (or Korea, I can't keep track) in time to go on the campout. It should be really fun, thanks to the Leitners who organized it all. Thank goodness it isn't as long of a hike as Serene Lake was back in 2009, those 6 miles took over 3 hours UP HILL!

Anyway, that's all for now. See everyone tonight at training!

Good Week

This week was really good martial arts based and social based. Aim high was really good this week for many reasons, class was fun and I'm getting grappiling back in shape and it was an overall great class. Also demoteam was super fun we got to play a lot of games and did a bunch of jumpkicks. Oh and I landed a bunch of 540's after class. OGA was good to my backflip is getting better and better hopefully in a couple weeks I won't have to be spotted. My last good thing related to Aim High was that I did a plank for 5:30seconds. Social related I got to hangout with my bestfriend and with my family I got to see the Virginia lacrosse game!

Whew!

So the past few weeks have been one of those times where you just say to yourself that you need to take one day at a time. First it was the practice training for Phase 2 testing that actually turned out to be the testing. Followed closely by the Pac Jewel Tournament.... That was really interesting... I never got into MMA to compete because I really do it because I like the people and I figure that at some point in my life, I have to feel like I don't have 2 left feet in everything that I do. Anyhow, my goal was to compete in one form, not to panic in the middle of it, and to do the form to the best of my ability. I accomplished my goal. It was funny in a way because everyone runs around with these big gold trophies to show off. I didn't even place in my category for the form I did, but the trophy I got was the one that sits smack dab in the middle of my self-confidence. It sits in my mind and tells me that I set a goal, I reached it, and that's what I can show off moving forward in the confidence I'm slowly gaining in all this craziness. :)

OGA

I am sad because the demo team OGA class ends next week. I really liked going to OGA because the teachers there helped me improve my skills. I am going to miss all the things I did there.

Phew

The other day I put a post on facebook about being crazy busy - not sure how it happened but earlier this year I actually resigned from a few committees and a board I serve on in order to give myself some breathing room to train. But suddenly I feel as if I am busier then before. The worst part is when I look through my calendar to cancel stuff - the only stuff that is flexible is the stuff I actually enjoy doing! :-(

Great class last night - fun but also a good work out. Looking forward to the camp out!

Random

Wow, I try to blog every Wednesday, but I think I've missed a few!!  So below are all the random thoughts in my head...  =)

The special training on the 30th was awesome and I'm so glad I got to participate too!  All of you did really well and you should be proud of what you were able to accomplish that morning.  Every Wednesday, I do a 5:30am High-Def class that puts you through circuits similar to what you experienced... with the exception of Robert yelling (I mean providing motivational words) at me.. (lol)  Believe me, Robert does not let me sandbag it at all...  Cross training is very beneficial to your normal workout routine.  You're using your muscles in a different way and increasing your endurance/stamina.  So when I keep us inside, push yourself... in other words... What you put into it, is what you get out of it.

Congrats to all those who participated in the Pac Jewell.  It was awesome to be there and to watch/cheer on our teammates and to see other types of Martial Arts.  I swear, Chandler and I saw Koryo performed three different ways in one division!

There is so much going on this month and next month is just as booked, for me at least.  The backpack/camping trip is coming up, the Starlight run, then off to Baltimore... upon my return, the annual Kickathon and the Helvetia half marathon that same Saturday morning!  OMG! I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
